Data Deletion Request | Quran Chat Buddy

You can request deletion of server-side data associated with your use of Quran Chat Buddy on iOS or Android. This page explains what we store, what we delete, and how to submit a request.

Your Right to Delete Data

At Quran Chat Buddy, we respect your privacy. You can request deletion of data associated with your use of our mobile app on iOS and Android. You do not need a traditional account login — the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which assigns a persistent identifier to your session.

Data We Store That Can Be Deleted

Upon a verified request, we can delete the following server-side data:

Your name (provided during onboarding)
Device identifier hash
Firebase Anonymous Authentication UID
Push notification token (FCM/APNs)
Message usage count stored in Firebase Realtime Database

Chat messages are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after your session ends. Subscription and purchase metadata is managed by RevenueCat and Apple or Google; see the Subscriptions section below.

Data That Is Not Stored on Our Servers

The following is used in real time or stored only on your device:

Precise location (GPS) — used for prayer times and Qibla; not stored persistently on our servers
Prayer time and notification preferences — stored locally on your device
Locally cached app data — removed when you uninstall the app

How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your server-side data, email us with the details below:

Include: Your device type (iOS or Android) and the app version if known

We will verify and process deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email when complete.

Other Ways to Limit Your Data

You can also take the following steps without contacting us:

Uninstall the app — removes locally stored data from your device
Disable location access — in your device Settings (iOS) or App permissions (Android)
Disable push notifications — in your device Settings or the app notification settings
Reset your advertising identifier — in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or Android Settings > Google > Ads
Unsubscribe from website emails — use the unsubscribe link in any mailing list email

Subscriptions (iOS and Android)

Requesting data deletion does not cancel an active subscription. To manage or cancel a subscription: on iOS, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; on Android, go to Google Play Store > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Purchase records may be retained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat as required by their policies.
